There’s a magic to Belvès.

It’s not just the medieval arches or the panoramic views across the Dordogne valley. It’s the quiet charm of the market square at 8 a.m., the way the stone glows honey-gold in the evening light, and the friendly “bonjour” you hear from every doorway.

I created pays-de-belves.com because I wanted to share that magic.

My father has lived in Sarlat for over 20 years, so we’ve spent a lot of time in this part of France — visiting often, exploring villages, and slowly getting to know the region. But it was during one simple day trip with my dad that everything changed.

He brought us to Belvès… and we instantly knew. This was the place. The place we’d been searching for. A place to begin a new life in France.

I’m not part of a tourist office or a big company — I’m just someone who genuinely fell in love with this village and its surrounding countryside. Whether you’re planning a visit, dreaming of moving here, or simply curious about what makes Belvès so special, this site is for you.
